PVC Status Data Policy

During registration, we ask whether you possess a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC): a simple yes/no status. We do not collect, request, or store your Voter Identification Number (VIN), PVC number, a photograph of your PVC, or any other PVC document data. If you ever see a form on this platform asking for your VIN or a PVC photo, do not submit it. That is not an authorized part of this platform and should be reported to us immediately.

PVC possession status is used solely for internal mobilization planning, for example, understanding roughly how many members across each LGA and ward are registered to vote, to guide voter-education and civic-participation outreach. It is never used to:

• Verify, condition, or influence how any individual votes;
• Facilitate vote-buying, vote-selling, or any form of electoral inducement;
• Restrict participation in the movement based on PVC status; or
• Share with any third party, campaign, or vendor for any purpose.

Collecting or trading actual PVC numbers, or conditioning any payment or benefit on producing a PVC, is prohibited on this platform and may constitute an offence under the Electoral Act. We do not do this, and no member, coordinator, or agent is authorized to do this on our behalf.

We process this data on the basis of your explicit, informed consent, given at the point of registration, consistent with the principles of Nigeria’s Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA): lawfulness and consent, purpose limitation (used only for the purpose stated above), and data minimization (we collect status only, not the underlying document or number).

Only authorized administrators of Evidence Group Cross River State can view aggregate or individual PVC status data, through the platform’s access-controlled admin dashboard. It is never made public, never shown on the leaderboard, and never exported except by an administrator for internal reporting.

We retain your registration data, including PVC status, for as long as you remain a registered member, and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, unless you request earlier deletion (see below).

You may, at any time, request to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate data;
• Withdraw consent and request deletion of your registration record.

Registration data is stored behind authenticated, access-controlled systems, with security practices including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, rate limiting, and restricted admin access. See our broader platform security posture for details.
